Samira, an 18-year-old girl, found herself in the Samadeeq IDP camp in Kahada District amidst chaos and despair caused by prolonged drought. She faced displacement alongside her relatives in this place that offered little solace. Samira's life took another darker turn, two unknown men attacked and drugged her, robbing her of her dignity and leaving lasting scars.

Trembling and broken, Samira sought refuge in the GBV One Stop Center. There, she found comfort in the listening ears and presence of a GBV counselor. She bravely recounted the haunting details of her harrowing experience. The counselor provided empathy and support, embracing her pain and being there for her during her darkest moments.

Recognizing the urgent need for healing and empowerment, Samira was directed to the Women and Girls Safe Space, supported by the FCDO project.
