The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in collaboration with the Rural Education and Agriculture Development Organization (READO) and with funding support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), is making significant strides in providing lifesaving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in Somalia. This partnership aims to address critical health needs in a region severely impacted by prolonged conflict, poverty, and limited access to healthcare. By leveraging READO's local expertise and community connections, UNFPA ensures that essential SRH services, including maternal health care, family planning, and emergency obstetric care, reach vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls. The funding from KSrelief enables the establishment of well-equipped health facilities and mobile clinics, distribution of vital medical supplies, and training of healthcare workers, thereby enhancing the capacity of the local health system to respond to emergencies and improve overall health outcomes. This collaborative effort not only saves lives but also fosters resilience and sustainable development within Somali communities.
