From the foregoing assessment findings, it is evident that COVID-19 has impacted on the trends for GBV and FGM. It also revealed an impact on GBV service provision including the provision of hygiene and sanitary items for women and adolescent girls. Vulnerable population such as women and girls, especially those living in IDP camps are prone to increase sexual and gender-based violence due to pre-existing conditions. In order to reduce the impact of COVID restrictions to the survivors, there is a need to adopt innovative approaches. GBV service provision needs to receive priority attention in terms of provision of protective equipment and funding to improve infrastructure and staffing to meet the recommendations for a remote methodology for GBV service provision.
