The students were enrolled from Lower and Middle Shabelle and have since gone back to their communities to help save the lives of mothers and newborn babies.

In Somaliland, 40 midwives graduated from the Hargeisa School of Health Sciences on 1 March 2020 also through UNFPA’s support to the Somaliland Ministry of Health Development.

Somaliland’s Ministry of Health and Development awarded UNFPA a certificate of recognition for supporting the training of midwives.
