I January, UNFPA has through its Impelemnting Partner distributed 283 Clean Delivery Kits to 283 Pregnant Women in Galkayo IDP settlements. The pregnant women were ranging from 6 months to 9 months pregnant. The IDP settlements targeted were 14 number which are: Tawakal, Halabokhad, Alanley, Arafat, Hiiran, Bur-Bisharo, Bulo Jawan, Mustaqbal 1 & Mustaqbal 2, All-Amin 1 & 2, Hawl wadaag, Doonyaale & Marerey IDP settlements.
In addition, they've documented 154 cases of delivery, 8 cases of complicated deliveries refered to GMC for further medical support, and gave anti-natal care for 862 mothers.
