Baidoa COVID-19 Vulnerability Mapping by Risk Factors

Due to insecurity, and recurring natural disasters a lot of IDP families flee from rural villages in Bay and Bakool to settle in Baidoa, mostly in self-settled camps. In settled camps, people live very close to one another and use locally available materials such as worn-out clothes, plastic and boxes to build make-shift shelters.

IDPs are considered to be one of the most vulnerable populations to the spread of COVID-19 infections. This is due to the nature of their settlements and inadequate social amenities available to them.
