A Day in the Life of UNFPA midwives in Rakhine state

  • Midwives are the backbone of Myanmar’s primary maternal health care system and crucial to improving the quality of services to pregnant women, new mothers and newborns. In cooperation with the Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Association UNFPA trains and deploys midwives to areas where the needs are greatest, such as remote villages and camps for displaced people, including in Rakhine.
