The Local Security Associate position is located in the Country Office – Mogadishu, Somalia. Under the guidance and supervision of the Security Specialist (Security Focal Point) the Local Security Associate assists in the implementation of the security plan, security operations and all matters relating to the management of safety and security for UN personnel, premises and assets in the country office.
Under the immediate supervision of the Security Specialist, the Local Security Associate (LSA) will provide assistance in the implementation of the security plan and all matters relating to safety and security operations and management, ensuring Minimum Operating Security Standard (MOSS) and matters pertaining to safety and security of UNFPA personnel, premises and associated assets of UNFPA Somalia. It is important to note that the LSA is a local associate who must always conduct his/her functions in close cooperation with UNDSS and under the direct supervision of the Security Specialist and be accountable through the Assistant Representative to the UNFPA Representative who maintains accountability for security in accordance with the Accountability Policy. The LSA will work under the technical guidance of the UNFPA Security Specialist for functional security matters in collaboration with the IOM.
